It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World!

What the world does not need right now is more confusion. Alas, that is what we are going to get. In spades.


The EU, apparently not sufficiently engaged by its own impending doom, has decided to slap an oil embargo on Iran.


The Mad Dwarf has blovioated that he will definitely close the Straits of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the USA, Great Britain, and France have sailed war ships into the Straits of Hormuz.

Our new friends in India have no intention of supporting us against their even newer friends in Iran.

Iran wants  India to pay for oil in Japanese Yen. India suggested rupees but Iran said no because who wants Indian rupees!?

Iran and India currently trade through a Turkish intermediary bank using dollars and euros.  However Iran does not want euros  and US dollars due to recently-imposed sanctions.

So the fuel's been stacked and doused with gasoline and the Mad Dwarf wants to play with matches.

Prices of petroleum and related fuels, natural gas et al, rose Monday.  Duh!

So, we have a classic brinksmanship situtation in place.  Muslim barrows are mostly bluster but they are also mostly nuts.  No telling how Barackbar would react to Iranian aggression.  Would he tacitly support his Muslim bro? Is Barackbar pure Shiite? Or a closet Sunni? Will he act in America's interest?

It is getting closer to being  Almost Midnight in the West.  Gird thy loins! A helmet night be a good idea, too.
